  • Product description

Rapid cooling furnaces may encounter various malfunctions during operation. Below are some common malfunctions, their causes, and solutions:

1. Electrode Accidents: Common electrode system malfunctions include electrode soft breakage, hard breakage, paste overflow, copper tile arcing, electrode tripping, grounding failure, electrode slippage, inability to press down the electrode, and inability to pull the electrode back up. For example, copper tile arcing may be caused by insufficient electrode paste in one section of the copper tile, a loose copper tile, or electrode shell deformation. Solutions may include adjusting the upper and lower gate rings and pressing down the electrode, or plugging and repairing the paste overflow area.

2. Furnace Runaway Accidents: Furnace runaway typically refers to an accident where the overflow outlet and surrounding area cannot be blocked, resulting in a large amount of low-nickel matte rushing out of the furnace. Causes of furnace runaway may include overheating of the melt, severe corrosion of the liner and bricks, improper installation and maintenance of the furnace outlet, etc. Solutions include taking emergency measures in the event of a major runaway, such as stopping power supply and quickly removing slag to reduce melt pressure.

3. Furnace Leakage: Furnace leakage refers to a leak in the furnace body. Troubleshooting requires checking the specific location of the leak and repairing it accordingly.

4. Common Faults in Medium-Frequency Furnaces: Common faults in medium-frequency furnaces include inability to start, difficulty starting, overcurrent protection failure, excessively high DC current during operation, and failure to restart after shutdown. These faults may be caused by factors such as missing inverter trigger pulses, inverter thyristor breakdown, capacitor breakdown, load short circuits or grounding, and faults in the medium-frequency signal sampling circuit.

5. Dew Point Control in the Rapid Cooling Section of a Continuous Annealing Furnace: Controlling the dew point in the rapid cooling section of a continuous annealing furnace is crucial, affecting the strength of oxidation within the furnace. Excessively high dew point temperatures may cause the product surface to turn yellow or blue, resulting in downgraded products. Troubleshooting methods include employing efficient detection methods and control measures.

The causes and solutions for these faults need to be determined based on the specific circumstances and typically require diagnosis and repair by professional technicians.
